Aaaand Action! Arnold Schwarzenegger sits in the iconic electric off-road vehicle: A sight the world has never seen before. The cooperation with Kreisel Electric has made this possible. At the edge of the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbuehel, the former Californian governor has gone for a spin in the mutually developed, designed electrified Mercedes G-Class. “This amazing off-road vehicle as a clean and fast electric car? A dream has become real!”, rejoiced Schwarzenegger. In the near future, Schwarzenegger will test drive the prototype in Los Angeles and continue to develop it further together with Kreisel Electric.
Luxury SUV meets e-mobility
The electrified Mercedes G 350 d convinces with a realistic electric range of 300 kilometres with a single power-charge. The high-performance batteries are built into the car with a capacity of 80 kWh and an overall weight of 510 kg. The Kreisel batteries are distributed in the car: under the bonnet, in the rear, where it replaces the fuel tank and underneath the entry. Kreisel has not made any compromises when it comes to comfort functions, such as off-road capability and gradeability.
Several electric motors with reduction gears have been fitted directly onto the transfer gearbox while the main gear unit was eliminated. The powerful electric vehicle puts 360 kW (490 PS) on the road and reaches a maximum speed of 183 km/h. 100 km/h can be reached within 5.6 seconds. In just 25 minutes the e-car can be fast-charged up to 80 percent of its full capacity.
Presentation in KITZBUEHEL
The diesel-engine Mercedes off-road vehicle is driven by Schwarzenegger in the US since decades. The car is originally fabricated in Graz. Together Kreisel Electric and Schwarzenegger came up with the idea to modify this Mercedes and turn it into an electric vehicle which is ecological but dashing.
Ever since Schwarzenegger’s activities as governor of California, his engagement for renew-able energies and electromobility has continued tirelessly. Now, he works together with the global pioneer for electromobility, Kreisel Electric.
