Export day: Honoring young companies with international activities

Award for 44 “Born Global Champions” for innovative products and services and rapid international growth

26.06.2017 – ViennaIn addition to the presentation of the 2017 Export Prizes by Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and Harald Mahrer, Minister of Economic Affairs, in the Vienna Museum Quarter at Exporter’s Nite this evening, 44 young companies were also honored as “Born Global Champions” today at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Vienna as part of the 15th AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA Export Day.

WKOE_AW_Born Global 2017„”The awards go to companies that have rendered outstanding services to our economy through their successful internationalization. These are young companies – founded in 2012 or later – that have had global activities from day one, that offer innovative products and services and show rapid international growth,” WKÖ President Leitl emphasized at the joint ceremony with Economics Minister Mahrer. The “Born Global Champions” prizes have been awarded since 2015, and more than 120 companies have received awards to date. This year the category “Born Global Supporters” was added, for medium-sized and/or large companies that have successfully spun off or supported “Born Globals”.
